My bestest buddy Beanie turned 40 on New Year's Eve. Poor baby was sick though so she missed our planned birthday festivities, opting instead to lounge in bed and watch porn (really she did, but it was an accident! Or so she claims...).
Her illness played nicely into her husband's plans for a surprise party last night. We scheduled a "make up birthday dinner" with Beanie & Bryan, Cate & Wood, Scouter & me to get Beanie to the party site without arousing her suspicions.
Bryan invited high school friends, college friends, family, neighborhood friends... there was a great crowd awaiting the Bean when she walked unsuspectingly into the party room. The band immediately struck up "Today is Your Birthday" by the Beatles. Let the festivities commence! We danced the night away and had an absolute blast. Beanie kept saying she didn't want it to ever end.

Bryan did a great job planning the bash and a great time was had by all. For anyone out there who may be fearing 40, let me assure you that it is most definitely worth the party!
